Chef-owned, not chain-managed
Ray is a certified executive chef. Rachel runs the front. They’re here most days.
Bigger than it looks
Two rooms, a bar, 92 seats. Started in a 500 sq ft basement in 2012. They outgrew it. Twice.
They met in kitchens. Ray cooked at Red Star, Spitfire, Pepperwood, and co-owned J. Corks. Rachel ran the front of house at Solstice and J. Corks. In 2012 they were going to start a food truck. They found a basement on Main Street instead.
The menu changes constantly. Daily specials go up on Facebook every morning. They do catering, cooking seminars, and private parties. If it involves food, they’re into it.
We also cater. Weddings, office parties, birthdays. Talk to Rachel.

Sun Dawg Cafe is open Monday through Saturday, 8am to 4pm. The kitchen closes at 4pm. They are closed on Sundays.
Yes. Co-owner Rachel has celiac disease, so the kitchen genuinely understands gluten-free cooking. Many menu items are gluten-free or can be made gluten-free. Just ask your server.
No reservation needed. Walk-ins are always welcome. Saturdays can get busy, but the wait is typically short.
Sun Dawg Cafe is at 37 North Main Street in downtown Greensburg, PA 15601, across from the Westmoreland County Courthouse. Street parking is available on Main Street.

Yes. Sun Dawg has a full bar with cocktails, craft beer, and mimosas. The Jalapeño Pineapple Margarita is a house favorite.
